October 26th, 1959 is a notorious date where the world witnessed a daring and audacious escape attempt by three inmates at the Alcatraz Island federal prison. Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin had spent months meticulously planning their escape, exploiting the prison’s vulnerabilities. Under the cover of darkness, the trio utilized homemade tools to tunnel through the walls of their cells and climbed to the roof, where they fashioned an inflatable raft using raincoats. Despite leaving dummy heads in their beds to deceive the guards, their disappearance was discovered the following morning. To this day, the fate of the escapees remains unknown, and their story has become the stuff of legend, fueling speculation and inspiring countless books, films, and documentaries.
